Zahra earned her Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Harvard University Extension School, as well as her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. She is a licensed resident through Virginia’s Board of Counseling and is supervised by Christina Hagemeier, LPC, ATR-BC and Megan Barone, PsyD.
Zahra has provided therapy in a variety of clinical settings and also served as a teaching fellow at Harvard, where she led undergraduate courses and conducted research in mindfulness. Zahra specializes in helping clients navigate a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, religious transitions, identity concerns, and emotion regulation difficulties. Her clinical approach is integrative and draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and other modalities to meet the unique needs of each client.
Known for her warm, authentic presence, Zahra fosters an affirming space where clients feel both supported and challenged. If you’re looking for therapy that feels active, insightful, and empowering—rather than simply a place to vent—she offers a process that goes deeper and helps you move forward with clarity and purpose. Therapy with Zahra is about reconnecting with your inner wisdom, breaking old patterns, and stepping into a version of yourself that is empowered and energized.
