
Sara received a master’s degree in counseling, with an emphasis in Marriage, Couple, and Family, from Idaho State University. She is a licensed resident through Virginia’s Board of Counseling and is supervised by Sheri Collinsworth Cobarruvias, PhD, LPC-S, NCC and Megan Barone, PsyD.
Sara specializes in helping clients navigate relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, pregnancy and postpartum concerns, trauma, religious transitions, ADHD, and navigating new stages of life. Sara also has extensive experience working with a myriad of family constellations, including couples, parents and children, blended families, co-parents, and in-laws. Committed to evidence-based approaches, Sara is certified in Gottman Method Couples Therapy Levels 1 and 2.
Sara’s therapeutic approach is rooted in empowerment, social justice, and a deep understanding of how systems of power impact mental well-being. She takes a collaborative, culturally aware, and advocacy-focused stance, guiding clients as they reclaim their agency and autonomy.
